License-to-Text

Name a license of the library, or paste its model, and DALICC writes the license text for it in plain English: what you may do, what you must do, what you may not do, and the further terms. It is the other direction of Text-to-License, and it reads the model you already have rather than writing a new one.

What it does, and what it does not

  • The text it writes is a reading of the model, not the license. Only the license itself is binding, and nothing here is legal advice.
  • It reads a model and writes prose. It never changes a license, and it never publishes anything.
  • Every section names the terms of the model it covers. A term no section covered is listed under the text, so a short text never looks like a complete one.
  • Where the assistant is not configured, where your allowance for the day is used up and where the provider does not answer, the text is written from the vocabulary's own definitions instead. The result says which of the two wrote it.
  • The text is shown once and can be saved as a text or a markdown file. DALICC keeps only the count. It is a count of its own: writing a license text takes nothing away from your translations for the day.
